Weis Bar Gummies

Including good quality gelatin in the diet is a wonderful way to look after your connective tissue, skin, hair, nails, and gut lining. These Weis Bar Gummies are such a delicious and well-balanced snack that include protein from the gelatin, fat from the coconut and carbohydrates from the mango. When it comes to animal products, quality is key, and considering that gelatin is made from animals I have put together a list of brands that I recommend:


Coconut layer

1 cup coconut cream

1.5 Tbsp gelatin

1 cup water

Mango layer

1 cup of fresh mango (or frozen -defrosted)

1.5 Tbsp gelatin

1 cup water


For coconut layer

  1. Mix 1/4 cup of water and gelatin and set aside to bloom for a couple of minutes

  2. Add coconut cream, remaining 3/4 cup of water and bloomed gelatin mixture to a small pot on low heat until the gelatin melts, mix to combine

  3. Pour into silicon moulds and put in the fridge to set

Note: you can use any kind of mould or container here - I used silicon muffin moulds and then cut the gummies into 4 when they were ready

For mango layer

  1. Mix 1/2 cup of water with gelatin and set aside to bloom

  2. Add remaining 1/2 cup of water and mango to a blender and blend on high until smooth

  3. Place the bloomed gelatin mixture into a small pot and melt down over low heat

  4. Add the melted gelatin mixture to the blended mango and mix well

  5. Once the coconut layer is set, pour the mango layer on top and place back into the fridge for at least 2 hours before removing from the moulds

Note: you can swap the mango for any other fruit that will puree e.g. berries, peaches
